Chapter1:
affect
definition: to influence or to cause a result
sentence: The nurses' strike affects all hospital.

reflect
definition:to be the result of a particular situation or feeling
sentence: The increase in crime reflects rising unemployment.
morale
definition:a confident state of mind, especially in a bad situation
sentence:The team's morale is high depite their recent defeat.


Chapter3
immoral
definition: not considered good or right
sentence:Using other people for your own profit is immoral.
impose
definition:to force someone to accept something they do not want
sentence:Economic sanctions have been imposed on South Africa.
privacy
definition: the state of being able to be alone, and not seen or heard by other people
sentence:There's not much privacy in these dormatory: the walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbour is saying.

flexible
definition: able to change to suit different needs or situations
sentence: Dances need to be flexible.
apologize
definition: to say that you are sorry for doing something wrong or causing trouble
sentence:He apologizes for being late.
insistence
definition: the act of stating or demanding something very strongly
sentence: I did it, but only at your insistence.

strict
definition: severe in demanding obedience to rules of behaviour
sentence: They are very strict with their children.
proof
definition: a sign that something is certainly true
sentence:There's no proof of his guilt.

definition: to correct or alightly change the position of something
sentence:He adjusted his tie.
thrill
definition: to get or give a very strong feeling of excitement, pleasure, or fear
sentence: We were thrilled at your news.
superficial
definition: on or near the surface
sentence: Despite all the blood, they were only superficial cuts.
